It’s a beautiful Sunday morning here in Arusha, and I thought I’d give you a quick update on the Badger’s health.
It has been one week since the gastroenteritis symptoms started, and I’m happy to report that most systems appear to be back online. I’m still very weak and a little nauseated from the continued Ciprofloxacin dosage (which ends tomorrow), but I’m eating and drinking fairly normally. I managed to down two liters of water in each of the last few days, and I ate macaroni and cheese, so things seem good.
I took a short walk yesterday. It exhausted me, but I’ll go again today to keep building strength. Here’s a pic of some beautiful flowers from the walk:
I will have more testing done once the drugs are gone to make fer damned sure that all the beasties have been eradicated.
And thank you to Maria Michele’s Heal and Cleanse elixirs: they made me feel human when things were going pretty poorly. You can get some here–highly recommended.

With that, I’m going to head out for some sun and fresh air. Enjoy your Sunday wherever you are. And thank you for the continued well-wishes. I have to admit that this illness shook me to the core and scared me. I hope I don’t see the likes of it ever again. Gah!

Oh golly, Badger – I was thinking about you today and decided to look you up. You’ve been having some serious adventures! Glad to hear you are on the mend.
P.S. The “metro” drug may have been metronidazole – it’s an antibiotic and antiprotozoal. It’s what they give hikers when they don’t treat their water and end up with giardiasis. *cough* I have no idea who would do that…
Ha, I can’t think of ANYONE I know who would do something like that ?!!!! You are correct about the drug. They seem to be working. I take the last pill this morning, then I’m going to get retested and make sure all that crud is gone!!!
