While scrolling through my photos last night, I realized I’d never made a video of my Safari and Zanzibar excursions following my Kilimanjaro climb. The day after finishing, several of us took a wonderful 4-day Safari in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Manyara. It was one of the most beautiful and spiritual trips I’ve ever taken. Check out those animals! Up close and personal, unshackled and completely free to roam and roar.
Badger’s Days in Paradise
Overview: the video starts with a few pictures from the final push on summit night, followed by many animals on safari, followed by the Honey Badger frolicking in Zanzibar. I plan to return at least twice per year.

After returning from safari, I flew out to Zanzibar for four days on the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen (Nungwi). Bar none. Waikiki looks like a hellhole in comparison. Seriously: I was just in Hawaii in April. I don’t need to return. Check out the Badger in Zanzibar (video is much better):
There will be more reporting on these adventures in future posts, including my wrapup of the climb. For now, enjoy another day in MY paradise. If this doesn’t make you want to come visit me in Africa, I don’t know what will.

It was such a great safari and we were so lucky to see so many animals up close and personal.
My favorite moment of the safari was your comment after we saw the lion honeymoon in the Serengeti: “that’s it?” ? I still have the video.
